Lauren’s superior teaching competencies are demonstrable in the areas of food, environment and development. Her undergraduate and graduate courses have included unique community placements, immersive field schools, innovative skills-based assignments and comprehensive approaches to active learning that have advanced learning outcomes across the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences and beyond. Students praise her passion, her capacity to stimulate learning and her attentiveness to ‘real world’ scenarios. Lauren has engaged in undergraduate and graduate advising, and has considerable experience as a student writing coach. She has also developed and updated teaching manual materials for a leading textbook in the field of development studies.
