Teaching and Advisory Experience

Lauren’s superior teaching competencies are demonstrable in the areas of sustainability, global development, international business, commodity supply chains, the food industry, research methods, and project management and evaluation. Her undergraduate and graduate courses have included unique community placements, immersive field schools, innovative skills-based assignments, and comprehensive approaches to active learning that have advanced learning outcomes for colleges, departments, and programs. Students praise her passion, her capacity to stimulate learning through case studies, and her attentiveness to ‘real world’ scenarios. Lauren has engaged in undergraduate and graduate advising, and has considerable experience as a student writing and communications instructor. She has also developed and updated teaching manual materials for a leading textbook in the field of international development studies.
